April 28: Underhyped Stars
Have you ever read a book that you loved but hadn’t really heard about before in the book community? It happens to most everyone! This week, look for books that you wish more people in the book community knew about.

Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews

This is a really good and hilarious serious. I absolutely adore the main character. I love this serious so much that I gifted it to my girlfriend for Christmas.

Orphan X by Gregg Hurwitz

This is an intense ride. We follow a man who was pulled from orphanage and erased from the system entirely. He was trained to be an assassin. When he decides he no longer wants to do it, he becomes one of the biggest target. I love it!

The Dark Road series by Krys Fenner

This is a dark story and not for everyone. There are many triggering aspects that would be too much for some. However, if the story itself can be stomached, I would definitely recommend it. It’s such an emotionally driven and intense read.

The Paranormals of Avynwood by Michelle Dare

This entire series is just so amazing. They can all be read as standalones, but they connect so well together it’s incredible. There’s one character in particular that makes each book even better! His name is Solomon. Read it and you’ll see!

The Complications of Pi by RK Phillips

Peyton is a math professor who is known by all that she cares about for being a bit on the clumsy side. She’s comfortable with her life until everything is thrown upside down when her brother decides to bid on a woman at an auction they attend together for her. The book follows the two and their connection to each other. It’s a really wonderful read. It’s also one of the best debut novels I’ve ever read.

April 21: Brighter Days
I think we can all agree that things aren’t quite perfect in the world right now, so to bring a little light to everyone’s day this week’s prompt is about books that brought a smile to your face!

Complications of Pi

It’s just such a fun and quirky novel as it is! The fact that it supports the LGBTQ+ community just makes it so so so much better for me!

The Paranormals of Avynwood Series

This entire series! It’s just everything! It also gives a nod to the LGBTQ+ community as well.

The Stephanie Plum Series

I mean…. just read it. How can it not make you smile? It’s so insanely hilarious!

Inkeeper Chronicles

We have southern flair. We have sarcasm. We have dry and dark humor. We have it all. What more can we ask for?

Stalking Jack the Ripper series

Thomas makes this book so much better. They all do, but just Thomas. If you know, you know.

March 24: Well That Dragged
Or maybe it didn’t. A year ago Melbourne went into lockdown, like most of the world, so in unfond memory, this week the topic is to discuss books that had strange pacing, whether it was the book itself, or a result of the way you read it. Alternatively, you could also talk about books that went on longer than necessary.
Stay cautious everyone.

I want to preface this by saying that I really enjoyed all of these books. I just thought that they really drug on and they weren’t as promising as I thought they would be. Especially the Pullman and Goodkind ones. I had such high expectations for all of them that just weren’t met. That being said, I do believe all of them got 4 or 5 star ratings.

March 17: St. Patrick’s Day
This one’s pretty straightforward: In honor of St. Paddy’s Day, find five shamrock green covers! The brighter the better. if you don’t have green covers, try leprechaun gold or maybe just rainbow!

Green is a beautiful color. Not my favorite color, but one I adore! Here are my picks:
