Review:

Story: First of all, I want to say how beautiful I find the cover. I hope that it never changes. Well, maybe some tweaks here and there, but the same for the most part. I really enjoyed this book. I went into it blindly like I do with most books. I really enjoyed reading it. I loved learning some more about Japanese culture. I have to be honest, there were a few times that I thought this was going to wind up being a horror novel. I had some theories on how the book was going to end up. I was wrong. The ending was still very beautiful. I really enjoyed it.

Characters: We follow Mari in this story. She takes a trip to Japan after her mother passed away. She found herself struggling with grief and unable to go on. Then she discovers that she’s been offered a grant to photograph an inn. I really liked her, but there were some things she did and thought that I didn’t agree with. I loved the maid! I forget her name, but she was so quirky!!! I’d have liked to see more of the sister in the book if I’m being honest.

Critiques: None

Narration: I really feel like the narrator got as into this story as I did. I didn’t want to stop listening. I will most likely listen to this audiobook again because of how good the narration was.

Final Thoughts: This was such a beautiful story. It is a story that really invokes thought and reflection on life. That being said, it’s also got a very quirky and sassy flare to it as well. I feel like that kind of breaks up the heavy of the story overall. I probably would have finished this book in one sitting had I had the chance. I will be rereading this in the future. It’s just so beautiful!

Originally from the Chicago area, Author Donna Sundblad now makes her home in the foothills of NW Georgia with her husband, cat and birds. The original inspiration for The Inheritance stemmed from her own journey to find Truth. Even though she grew up in a religious home, it was at age 29 she finally met Jesus Christ in a real way. That relationship changed her life for eternity. My Review:

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Story: I didn’t really care for the beginning at all. If it wasn’t for that, this book would get a full five stars. It’s a really adorable story other than that. I really enjoyed it. I especially loved the dragons’ way of speaking. It was very unique and yet familiar at the same time. I’m really hoping that this is a series so that I can continue reading. I believe I remember it being referenced at the end. I could be wrong though.

Characters: I’m horrible with names. If the book had been told completely from the first person’s point of view, I would have put this book down. He wasn’t relatable at all. The rest of them were really wonderful Especially the dragons.

Critiques: There were parts I felt were a bit too jumpy. This may be a me thing. I do have ADHD.

Final Thoughts: I’m very thankful that I listened to my gut and kept reading. I didn’t like the beginning of the book at all. He really bothered me and made me feel very uncomfortable. I felt like I connected with the daughter more than anybody. I won’t get to much into that. I don’t want to spoil too much of this book for potential readers. I definitely recommend pushing through the beginning. It seems really frustrating, but it’s worth the wait. I promise.

My Review:

This is the cutest book! I really enjoyed it. I also really enjoy that it’s so interactive. Each page has wonderful dance moves that can be performed to go with the story! How amazing is that? I fully recommend this. I think it would be beneficial of all ages.

My Review:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

This book is a very quirky and fun read. There are things referenced that just blew my mind. The only issues I had with the book were the constant use of the watch name. It kind of became redundant. I think this is a personal ism for me. The other issue I had was that it ended with a cliffhanger and I don’t have access to the second book! I fully recommend the book. I’m very thankful that I was able to read it.

My Review:

I really enjoyed all three of these books. They are dark and mysterious. They are quirky and hilarious. Most importantly, they are unique. Claire is just such an enjoyable character to read about. And it seems like many people in her world adore her. I’d love to see this a movie or television series one day. I’d also love to see audiobooks of them. If that ever happens, I will buy all of them and listen to the books again.

This book is full of historical information. I learned so much from it. I also really enjoyed the sassy comments from the author. It’s not every day you read a nonfiction historical book and get some comedy from it. I enjoyed this so much that I bought copies for two people who are important to me. I also have plans to reread it to take notes and make a list of the books referenced in it so that I can get them and read them too. I definitely recommend this book.

Review:

Story: I found this book to be very interesting. I think this is the first book in a series. I could be wrong on that though. I am curious to see where it goes if it winds up being a series though. This book was a wild ride. Just when things were calming down and I thought I had it figured out, I was thrown through another loop. I was totally here for it though.

Characters: I really can’t remember the characters names. I’ll be honest, there were a few times I got the names mixed up. I do know that it was a group of boys and their parents. There were other adults sprinkled through the book as well. As this is a young adult novel, you mainly see the plot through their point of view. They do play a strong part though. All of the characters had really strong personalities. Good and bad. I only wish I could have seen a bit more points of view from all of the characters.

Critiques: None

Final Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book. It is pretty fast-paced and action packed. This is a middle grade novel, but I think it would be enjoyable to people of all ages. I know I did, and I am very much an adult. I am thankful that I came across this book. I look forward to reading other books by this author.

Review:

Story: This is the fifth book that I’ve read in this world and by this author. To say that both have become a favorite is a serious understatement. I’m obsessed with knowing what happens to everybody in the series! The writing style of Barber is just so unique. I can’t wait to see other books written by her. These books can be read alone, but I seriously think they should all be read. Even if they aren’t read in order. All of these books pack so much humor, spice, and thrill!

Characters: I was really happy to see that Seth got his own book. There were times that I was not happy with his attitude, but he didn’t stay in those attitudes long. There were times that I wanted to jump into the book and yell at both him and Clare to get it together. Maybe even shake them a bit. Lovingly, of course. I still adored both of them! Especially Clare. She’s so strong, but vulnerable and scared. I also loved seeing characters from other books. Especially Bryce, Emma, Luca, and Elise.

Critiques: As if!

Final Thoughts: When I first started reading these books, I knew that I would like them. I like sporty books. Romance or not. I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with the series. With every single character and their stories. I wasn’t expecting to become obsessed. This author is now on my instant buy list! She’s such an amazing writer!

Review:

Story: I’m not sure what I was expecting when I started this book. I really wasn’t hooked in the beginning and there were many parts in the book itself that I really didn’t care for. I won’t get into the details of the negatives. They really are more personal preferences than the actual writing. I think the author had a wonderful writing style to be honest. The idea of the book is unique. It is a slow start, but it does pick up. I also loved the fact that this book had more than five hundred pages!

Characters: I really didn’t feel a connection with any of the characters. I don’t think I’m really supposed to. I really did love seeing the journey of them though. I think this would have been better told in multiple points of view if I’m being honest.

Critiques: None

Final Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book, and I’m so glad that I read it. I’m curious to see what other books that the author brings us. I really love their writing style. I recommend this book to anybody who love futuristic or dystopian type novels. It’s creative and unique. I would like to point out that I felt it was a slow start. I also found a few triggers. Such as SA, DA, and misogynistic situations.

Story: For those who read my reviews, it’s very obvious that I choose to go into most books I read blindly. The ones I go into known are because somebody talked about them or I saw posts on social media. I don’t really address the fact that I do like to go into books with theories. This is one of the books where my theory was so off base it blew my mind. I wasn’t even in the right genre. My guess by the cover and the title was that this was a mystery or detective type. Probably set in a tropical era. This book gave me Girl Interrupted vibes. I read after the fact that this is a dystopian type book. I can totally see that. I really did enjoy the book very much. It’s quirky and fun. It’s hard not to get immersed in the book. Even if it’s just to find out what more chaos will unfold through it all. I do want to note that this book covers mental illness and other potentially sensitive topics.

Characters: Malibu is our main character. The whole story is told from her point of view. She comes off as mentally unstable. Possibly has a touch of schizophrenia. She’s definitely a pyro. There were a few other characters that had some pretty important parts. I feel like talking too much about them would spoil parts of the book.

Critiques: There were things that were glossed over that I really feel shouldn’t have been. There were also parts that I feel really didn’t need to be included.

Final Thoughts: I may have been completely off base about my theory. It’s something that I will remember for a long time. I really did enjoy the book though. There were some very graphic and gory parts of the book. I can’t say I was in love with the book, and I probably won’t ever read it again. I don’t regret reading it though, and I do strongly recommend it. I would advise you to read what the book is about before getting into it. There are parts that might not be okay for more sensitive readers.
