2022 Unwritten Reviews

For those of you who don’t know, I had a rough start to the year. I didn’t want to write reviews. I really didn’t want to do anything at all with my blog or social media. I was in a depressive funk. One that I couldn’t shake myself out of. I knew that I had friends and family. I knew I was loved. I just still felt alone and like I should just give up on everything. It took me quite a while to get myself out of the dark place I was in.

In August, I discovered OneNote. Well, that’s not a fair statement. I knew about OneNote for a long time. I just never realized how beneficial it would be for me. It started out as writing notes for work. Then I had a “what if” moment and started writing reviews on my personal computer on it.

Note: The tabs are for each month and each tab had a page for every book I read that month. The title has a hyperlink that leads right to the blog post for the review.

I spent quite a bit of time writing reviews for books earlier in the year. For a while, that was my focus. Until I realized that the longer I went the more behind I fell. So, I decided to start writing reviews for books I currently read and decided to go back when I could. I’ve gotten myself into a nice habit of writing a review soon after I’ve read the book.

While I’m getting current reads reviewed right away, I do acknowledge that I still have reviews I need to write from earlier this year. Today, I made a list of reviews that I need to write. I am going to start putting a priority to get them written and posted until they are all done. They will be posted on days I don’t have anything planned until they are all done.

Here’s the list of books I’ve read this year that I haven’t reviewed yet:

The Girl Who Fell Beneath The Sea
Girl in the Blue Coat
Learn to Love yourself
Cytonic
Cataclysm
The Ash Moon
The Somber Call
The Crucial Shift
Red Queen
Zelia
A Forgery Of Roses

Glass Sword
Hunt
A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale

Out of the Shadows

My Reading Stats: June 5th

Lately, I haven’t read as much as I’d like. I’m reading every day still, but just barely on some days. I have still been keeping track. I am hoping that sharing my progress on here will be helpful. We shall see. I will make it from Sunday to Saturday.

Note: Some ebooks I have don’t have page numbers so I measure it by % instead. It gets a little tricky with daily page counting, but it works in the end.

Sunday:

Rise of Riverstone: 401-404
War Storm: 322-391

Monday:

War Storm: 392-430
Rise of Riverstone: 405-590

Tuesday:

Royal Spy: 1%-9%

Wednesday:

Royal Spy: 10%-18%

Thursday:

War Storm: 431-538

Friday:

War Storm: 539-662
Royal Spy: 19%-31%

Saturday:

Royal Spy: 32%-35%

What I hope to read this week:

  1. Royal Spy by Heather Frost
  2. Into the Violet Gardens by Isaac Nasri
  3. Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber
  4. Home Field Advantage by Dahlia Adler
  5. Nightcrawling by Lelie Mottley
  6. The Gate Keeper by James Byrne
  7. Scorpion’s Dance by Jefferson Morley
  8. Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey

I’d like to try to read at least a hundred pages a day, but I know that there will be days I won’t do that. I am going to at least make it a point to read at least a chapter a day. I love my job, but sometimes the back-to-back calls for the entire shift is mentally draining. It makes wanting to read really hard. I’ve found myself watching more television than I have reading when I’m not working. I’m just thankful that I’m not having major anxiety over that anymore!

Tell me about your reading these days!

A New Routine

I thought I would attempt freestyle. I was falling into a rut and wanted to do something that would help drag me out if it. It really did help. But quite frankly, I love my routine. I think that has a lot to do with my ADHD. But anyways. This is an announcement! I’m bringing back the daily themes! I’m not going to schedule anything but promo blogs. I’ll most likely make and post them after work as I’ll be working night shift. Also, until I’ve caught up on all reviews, I’m going to be attempting to post one book review a day starting tomorrow. After I’m caught up, I’ll be posting reviews once I’m finished with book.

Okay I’ve rambled enough. Here’s the weekly schedule!

Manic Monday– This will be a free for all. Anything I want to post about. Book or not book related. I find that I’m pretty creative on Mondays, so I thought this might be a good thing to do.

Top Ten Tuesday– This is actually not mine. It’s a meme that a lot of bloggers do. I haven’t done one in a long time. I plan to start doing it again.

WWW Wednesday– This is another blog meme. This one I’ve really missed and am really excited to start up again!

Book Thoughts– This will be any random book thought. Most likely it will be from a topic I picked up on TikTok if I’m being honest. There’s a chance that I will probably also talk about topics more than once.

Social Media Posts– I’ll share four of my favorite Instagram or TikTok posts that I’ve made throughout the week. I’m hoping this holds me accountable for posting more.

What I Wish For– I’ll highlight a book that I really hope to own one day and why I want to own it.

My Reading Stats– I will highlight my reading progress for the week. I’ll also share what I hope to read the next week. I also may highlight some comments I got on my blog that I loved throughout the week as well.

Just writing it out has excited me so much! I will be officially starting this on Monday. I sincerely hope you enjoy! I’d love to start making more connections. More book friends if you will!
