Sundays in Bed With…. February 13th

Hosted by: Midnight Book Girl

Today is catch up day. I’ll be chipping away at multiple books today. It’s been an insanely busy week. I was sick Monday and then I spent the rest of the week working my normal shift and doing some overtime hours as well to make up for Monday.

Physical Reading:

Audiobook:

You’ll notice that two books are in both categories. That’s because I’m alternating reading and listening with them. It’s really helped a lot. I am very confident that I’ll be caught up fully by the end of the day. If not, I’ll be caught up by tomorrow. Especially with it being SuperBowl day. Everybody will be focused on that!

Today is catch up day. I’ll be chipping away at multiple books today. It’s been an insanely busy week. I was sick Monday and then I spent the rest of the week working my normal shift and doing some overtime hours as well to make up for Monday.

Physical Reading:

Audiobook:

Beast Within, The: A Tale of Beauty's Prince (Villains Book 2) by [Serena Valentino, Disney Storybook Art Team]

Normally, I’d have a main book and audiobook here. However, with the amount of reading with buddy reads that I have to make up, I don’t think I’ll have time to read a main book. It’s okay though. I’ll get there. Really loving the Villians series though. I listened to Fairest of All yesterday while doing some computer work.

Sundays in Bed With… Ascenders and Buses Are a Comin’

Hosted by: Midnight Book Girl

Ascenders: High School for the Recently Departed (Ascenders Saga Book 1) by [C.L. Gaber]

I’m a little late starting this. This was my January recommendation challenge. I just started it yesterday and I’m hooked. I can’t wait to see how this series goes. I’m so thankful that my friend recommended this book to me for the challenge.

Buses Are a Comin': Memoir of a Freedom Rider by [Charles Person, Richard Rooker]

Also behind on this. This is my nonfiction read for the month of January. I am starting it today. I’m so looking forward to learning about a very important part of our history. The only way to overcome the struggles of our world is to educate ourselves to be the best us we can possibly be. I’m listening to this in audio.

Sundays in Bed With… Dreams Lie Beneath, A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale, and Finale

Hosted by: Midnight Book Girl

Dreams Lie Beneath by [Rebecca Ross]

I discovered that Owlcrate is doing a read-along with this. I’m a bit behind. Hoping to catch up today. I have a lot to read, but luckily I have the day off. We will see how far I get! Fingers crossed!

A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale: A Heartwarming Feel Good Christmas Romance from Writer of Netflix's A Christmas Prince by [Karen Schaler]

I’m buddy reading this with a group of people who bought it for Christmas. We are doing six chapters a week. I thought I would go ahead and tackle the chapters today since I don’t know how busy I’ll be this week or how drained I’ll be. I’m excited to get started with it.

Finale: A Caraval Novel by [Stephanie Garber]

This is my audiobook for the day. I listen to audiobooks when I am doing things where I can’t exactly read, but I can focus on an audiobook while I do it. Like some of my daily tasks, chores, and playing games. I’ve been buddy reading this with One Book More. We’ve been so excited to read them all. I haven’t loved this one as much as I have the first two, but I’m getting there.

Sundays in Bed With… Legendary, A Whole New World, and Warheart

Hosted by: Midnight Book Girl

Legendary: A Caraval Novel by [Stephanie Garber]

I’m buddy reading this book with One Book More. I’m really enjoying it. I have a feeling that I will be finished with it by the end of the day if I’m able to. We will see! We’ve decided to go at our own pace and check in. It’s been pretty awesome! 🙂

A Whole New World: A Twisted Tale (Twisted Tale, A) by [Liz Braswell]

I’m buddy reading this book with Books are the New Black. We’re reading four chapters a day. I’m a bit behind, but I plan to catch up today. One of the beauties of having the day off. From what I’ve seen, we’ll probably be done with it in a few days. I’m not fully sure. I’ve really enjoyed getting to see and know Jasmine and Genie a little better in this retelling.

Warheart: Sword of Truth - The Conclusion - A Richard and Kahlan Novel by [Terry Goodkind]

I’m not fully sure I will get to this book. I’m hoping to. I have aims to finish it. I believe I’m about halfway through it. I could be wrong. I’ve really loved this series. More than I can ever explain. The fact that I’m finally at the end of the journey is both a relief and a tragedy. I might pick up the Nicci chronicles from here. I’m not really sure yet.

Sundays in Bed With… When You Get the Chance (Again) and Warheart

When You Get the Chance: A Novel by [Emma Lord]

While I’ve made great progress with this, I’ve had my head stuck in games. Most of the reading I’ve done has been audiobook lately. With luck, I plan to get this book finished by the end of the day. It’s really cute and quirky. There’s a chance I won’t. I’m a little under halfway done with the book. We will see!

Warheart: Sword of Truth - The Conclusion - A Richard and Kahlan Novel by [Terry Goodkind]

This is the audiobook I plan to listen to today. Ideally, I’d like to be finished with this book as well. I am both ready to be done with this series and sad to see it go. If you’ve read this series, I’m sure you understand. If you haven’t, I fully encourage you to read the series. It is a very long series. All of the books are very long. They are worth it though. So worth it!

Sundays in Bed With… When You Get the Chance and Eternal Seas

Hosted by: Midnight Book Girl

When You Get the Chance: A Novel by [Emma Lord]

This book will be released January 4th. I just started it on New Year’s Day. So far, I’m really enjoying it. It’s a very quirky book. I can’t say I connect well with the main character, but that’s okay. I still understand her and want to see great things for her. That counts, right? I am so thankful to Netgalley for allowing me to read a copy of this before release day. Especially with my horribly low review rate. I am aiming to increase that soon though.

Eternal Seas (The Relic Hunters Book 1) by [Lexi Rees]

I’m on a mission to finally chip away at my long backlist of books I accepted for review. This is from StoryOrigin. It’s an audiobook. I’ve had it for a very long time. My biggest problem is I accepted so much in such a short amount of time. Then time and commitments got the best of me. I will get better. I’m babbling. I’m starting this book today, so I don’t really know much about it. The cover looks very intriguing!

Sundays in Bed With… December 26th

Iron Widow by [Xiran Jay Zhao]

I just started this book the other day. It’s the audiobook I’m listening to. I don’t hate it. It just really wasn’t what I was expecting at all. I’m really enjoying it so far. The only issue I can see right now is that it’s a book one and it was released this September. Do I need to say more?

Instructions for Dancing by [Nicola Yoon]

I knew I would enjoy this book. I really love the author’s writing style. I want to say I’m about halfway through the book now. Maybe further. I’m hoping to get the book done today with some luck. I listened to Everything, Everything a long time ago via Scribd. However, I do feel I need to reread that eventually. It’s a problem I had with Scribd that I found was a common problem. I won’t weigh this blog down with that kind of negativity though.

Instructions for Dancing by [Nicola Yoon]

I haven’t really gotten far into the book so far. I like it okay. I’m not madly in love with it. I really do feel for the main character, but her behaviors worry me at the moment. I’ll leave it at that. I am looking forward to continuing the book to see if it picks up at all.

Sundays in Bed With… Too Good To Be True

Hosted by: Midnight Book Girl

Too Good to Be True: A Novel by [Carola Lovering]

I started reading this the other day. I had my doubts that I would like it. The cover really isn’t all that appealing if I’m being honest. I have been hooked from the very beginning. It’s told in three points of view in multiple points in time. I’m really curious to see how it all plays out. Right now I’m being told two different stories and reading the journal of a point of view. You would think it would be confusing, but it’s really not.
