Readathon News: Hallowseveathon

Disclaimer: These Readathons are not owned or run by me. I find them by searching the month and year on Google. My main source has been Little Book Owl.

Readathons This Week:

  1. Hallowseveathon: This takes place from October 25th-31st. I’m not really sure much about it other than there are some fun challenges and that it seems to come from the UK. The link takes you directly to their Twitter page.

Ongoing Readathons Mentioned Before:

  1. FrightFall Readathon: This will take place the entire month of October. It’s ran by Seasons of Reading. I’m familiar with their readathons. I haven’t participated in one in a long time. Maybe it’s time to correct that. Check out their page to sign up and get more info about the readathon!
  2. Gothic Readathon: This also takes place the entire month of October. From the looks of it, they are a little more “strict”. I don’t mean that in the harsh term of the word. They just have more structured reading and challenges. They do provide an extensive list of reading material to choose from. It also looks like they do a twitter chat at the end of the event. They also appear to have a movie day planned for all participants as well!
  3. Gothtober Readathon: This one also takes place the entire month of October from the looks of it. You can find plenty of information on the official Twitter page. I could be wrong about this, but this appears to be their second year hosting this readathon. If I am wrong, please correct me in the comments.
  4. HocusPocus Readathon: Another month long readathon! I bet you can’t guess the inspiration behind this readathon! It looks really quirky from what I’ve seen on the Twitter page. I also noticed that this is their fourth round! That’s amazing! From what I can see, you earn points through the readathon. There’s also a group read!

Dewey’s Readathon: Closing Survey

Closing Survey:

How would you assess your reading overall?

I think I did really amazing. In fact, I think this was one of my most successful readathons ever! I’ll have results posted on my blog with the hour by hour progress.

Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it?

I actually didn’t this time around. My only focus was finishing as many books that I’ve been in the middle of for a while. I definitely succeed with that. I wound up finishing three books!

What was your favorite snack?

My favorite “snack” of the day was the sliders I made. It’s not really a snack persay. It was lunch. It was still my favorite. It was so good!

Did you add any new books to your TBR/wishlist after seeing what everyone else is reading?

Yes! Too many to count!

What was your favorite book or experience from this readathon?

Getting to connect with others while we enjoyed reading together. Even if we weren’t actually together.

I’m not really sure. All of them!

Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?

There were instances where my family wanted to chat with me. I talked a bit and then reminded them of readathon and went back to reading.

What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?

How well I’ve been doing and how focused I’ve been!

I try my best to always stick to scary reads during this month! Of course, if you think about it, scary is perceptive to the person in question. Some people may consider Romance scary. Just saying.
