Readathon News: SeasonAThon and Breath of the WildAThon

Disclaimer: These Readathons are not owned or run by me. I find them by searching the month and year on Google. My main source has been Little Book Owl.

From what I see, there are two readathons going on this week.

  1. SeasonAThon: This takes place from September 20th-25th. You can find most of the information and challenges on their Twitter page. There will be an After Hours live session on September 25th at 3 PM. It looks really fun!
  2. Breath of the Wildathon: This one actually takes place for an entire month. It starts on September 20th and ends on October 20th. I will place reminders in my Readathon News pieces from now until the end of the event. You can find all of the information and challenges on the link provided.

Do you know of any readathons going on? What are you most excited for?

Readathon News: Vault-A-Thon and #AYearAThon

I’m going to get better at keeping this particular segment up to date. Thank you all for putting up with me.

We have two week long readathons going on this week.

  1. AYearAThon: This takes place from September 13th to the 19th. The theme is for banned books.
  2. Vault-A-Thon: I’m not sure exactly what the theme of this is for. The event also takes place from the 13th to the 19th. It looks like there will be a group read: Spoiler Alert by Olivia Dade. They will also be doing a live show on September 19th. The prompts can be found on their Twitter page.

Readathon News: #AYearAThon

Disclaimer: These Readathons are not owned or run by me. I find them by searching the month and year on Google. My main source has been Little Book Owl.

There are four month long readathons going on for the month of August.

  1. ARC August. From what I gather, this is the sixth annual event. It looks like you just read as many Advanced reader Copies as you can during the month. It doesn’t seem to matter if they are from this year or haven’t been released yet. As long as they are ARC copies.
  2. DraconAthon: They have a video on Youtube that explains everything about the readathon. It looks like it includes the prompts to get through with the readathon. You can view that by clicking here.
  3. High Summer Readathon: This is sponsored by Seasons of Reading. They have a sign up post on their blog for everybody that wants to participate to sign up. It doesn’t look like there are any prompts. Just read to your heart’s content. This is one of my favorite readathons because of how low key they are.
  4. Trope-ical Readathon: This is Round 5 of the readathon. You can find all of the information by clicking here. If you’re worried about being thrown into the middle of it because it’s the 5th round, don’t. This will be my first round as well. It does look really fun!

There is one week-long readathon this week. It’s the AYEARATHON readathon. This month’s theme is link the books. I don’t really see any news about this readathon to fully explain what “link the books means”. To be fair, I’m posting this in advance because I’ll be going out of town and may not be at a computer when it goes live. I’d just suggest to keep an eye on the website for any updates.

There are no week long readathons this week. However, we do have a very exciting and popular 24-Hour Readathon. It’s the reverse readathon for Dewey’s Readathon. I’ll be out in Savannah during this readathon, but I plan to do my best to participate in as much of the readathon as I can! I’m so excited for it!

The first week-long readathon in August will be the Buzzword Readathon. I haven’t really been active in this readathon. It’s not really my thing, but I won’t push my bias on other people. Some people may enjoy this particular readathon and want to know about it. This month’s buzz word is time of day.

I understand that August doesn’t really start until Sunday. I post these Monday and by the time I post, they will have all been going for a full day. Posting early gives us time to prepare properly. Especially those of us who will be travelling in the beginning. Besides, there haven’t really been in readathons for the last half of July.

Off The Grid Readathon: This takes place from July 9th to July 11th. The rules seem pretty simple. Go off the grid and focus on nothing but reading. No social media. No television. Nothing. We could all use this now and then.

Both of these look really amazing. I’m definitely going to at least attempt to participate in both of them. I’ll have to do some more research on them as I just have discovered them. Has anybody else heard of these? What are your thoughts on it?

Readathon News: Seasons of Reading and AYEARATHON

Disclaimer: These Readathons are not owned or run by me. I find them by searching the month and year on Google. My main source has been Little Book Owl.

June 14th-June 20th:

Seasons of Reading is holding an entire month long readathon dedicated to Sci-Fi. It’s called the Sci-Fi Summer Readathon. It looks like there aren’t many rules. Looks like you don’t even have to have a blog to participate. They do have a hashtag you can use that’s listed in the blog describing the readathon. They also have a Slack channel that can be joined. Feel free to click on the links and check them out!

This week, #AYEARATHON is holding a week long readathon. The theme they are choosing for this month is rereads. You can find more information about the readathon on the link provided in the hashtag. I haven’t been as great of a participant as I could be during these, but I plan to do better from here on. I’ve been looking forward to this one all year long. I plan to reread the House of Night series.

June 7th-June 13th:

This one is a little late, but Seasons of Reading is holding an entire month long readathon dedicated to Sci-Fi.

From June 6th to June 12th we have something I just found but I am super excited about hosted by queer_lit. It’s called the Queer Lit Readathon. It looks absolutely amazing. The original link I found wound up being all about last years readathons. Luckily for me, I was able to find out some information with a simple Google search. It looks like it’s very active on Instagram, but they also have a Youtube. They probably encourage the readathon on other platforms as well. Feel free to click the link I have provided for more info.

Normally, I’d post my TBR posts right here. I’ve been really struggling to read lately. So I think until I can stop forcing myself to read and actually want to read that I’ll just read on a whim. I am looking forward to picking out TBR piles for events again though. Let me know if you plan to participate in either of these readathons! Maybe we can do it together!
