All About Audiobook: Warheart

Warheart: Sword of Truth - The Conclusion - A Richard and Kahlan Novel by [Terry Goodkind]

I can’t believe I’ve made it to the end of this series. I’ll be done with it very soon. It’s just unreal. I feel like I was just mapping out the chapters to read each day with mom last week! I’m both relieved and depressed over the ending of this series. Part of me is very nervous about the ending of the series. We shall see. I have to swallow my pride and finish it eventually.

What audiobook are you enjoying these days?

Written In the Stars Anthology Spotlight: Lexi Ostrow

Written in the Stars Author: Lexi Ostrow

Interview With Lexi Ostrow:

Tell us what prompted you to start the series? Be as detailed as you want.

I honestly can’t remember what triggered this series. I LOVE writing light-hearted Christmas romances and it seemed like retelling the fairy tales was not done before. The choice really came when I had to decide what heat level to make the series. Since fairy tales are traditionally a younger audience, I decided this would become my first full YA/NA series.

How did you feel as you were writing the first book? Has that feeling changed between then and now? If so, how?

I just remember the words flying off the tips of my fingers. I’m not sure if it’s because the source material is so ingrained in my head – despite my many changes – or if it’s just because I always seem to flow so well with my Christmas romances. I’m currently writing book four, and I have learned that my joy is still there, but it’s considerably stronger when I’m twisting a favorite fairy tale – like the Princess and the Frog or Hercules (yes, I know, it’s technically a myth but it’s my series :D)

How many times have you had a specific idea for the story but it has been derailed because the characters decide to go a different way?

Thankfully, never in this series. Due to needing to follow an iconic arc, the characters seem to play nicely. Now, other series… let’s just say single books have frequently turned into series to tie things up or been completely rewritten.

What was the most difficult part in writing the series?

Picking which comes next! Thankfully, my street teamers are happy to vote. Only once have I gone against their choice – and I apologized to them. 2020 was rough. Pandemic aside, a mystery illness took over my life (that is undiagnosed but I’ve stopped letting it win), we had to move from New Orleans, we had to sell our first home, and ya know…COVID. I needed Hercules in my life so I made some adjustments and swapped Beauty and the Beast to this year.

If you could give advice to anybody else considering writing a series, what advice would you give?

Keep a journal if the series books connect together. Don’t leave any detail out because your readers will spot even the smallest change like the name of a shop.

About the Author:

USA Today Bestselling Author Lexi Ostrow has been in love with the written word since second grade when her librarian started a writing club. Born in sunny southern California she’s spent time in various places across the country and is not-so-patiently waiting for the USCG to return her to New

Orleans. Mom to a toddler and an array of pets, her house is never lacking stories to tell.

Lexi has been a writer ever since the second grade in some form or another. Getting her degree in creative writing and her master’s in journalism she couldn’t wait to get a chance to put her fantasies down on paper. From paranormal romance to thriller there isn’t a genre she doesn’t love to spend her time reading or writing. With her BA in creative writing from UCR and her MA in multi-media Journalism from Emerson College, she’s ready to take on the literary world one novel at a time.

Reading and writing are her first loves, but her passion for shopping, love for yummy food and her love for all her many pets are not far behind. Lexi is an enthusiast Whovian and DC Comic Show lover who isn’t afraid to talk someone’s ear off about them. She hopes to one day help other readers fall in love with writing as she did.

My life has always been lived on my own terms.

I’ve known all my life that my fated mate was Rémy Gautier, the son of the Alpha of New Orleans, but he walked away from me a long time ago.

Now, he’s come back wanting me to fall into his bed and share with him the one thing that has kept the Wolf Meadow pack strong and distinct—the secret of the ancient dire wolves.

The Darkness has returned ready to obliterate the one thing it hates most—Rémy’s pack. With the help of an elemental sorceress, can we turn the tide and destroy the Darkness once and for all?

Touch of Destiny is a supernatural romance with steamy heat in and out of the bedroom for mature readers. A second chance romance that includes a she-wolf who knows who she wants, a stubborn fated mate and an evil that wants to destroy their destiny.

Weekly Colorist Project: January 19th

While I love reading, it is not my only hobby. I realize that sometimes my love for reading outshines the rest of the hobbies I’m interested in. So, I’d like to start sharing some of my coloring projects every week. I’ll share my favorite four of the week. Typically, I’ll try to do two digital and two physical. However, I will go by the projects I’ve done for the week. If I did all digital, then all four will be digital and likewise for physical. Hope you enjoy! If you’re into coloring too, I’d love to see your projects!

What are some hobbies you’re currently into?

Weekly Featured Book: A Whole New World

A Whole New World: A Twisted Tale (Twisted Tale, A) by [Liz Braswell]

I’m buddy reading this and absolutely loving it. I’m supposed to have it done by the end of the day, but I’m a bit behind on it. I will definitely be done with it by the end of the week. I think the question on the cover is a little misleading though. He did FIND the lamp. He just gave it away. That’s the only real issue I have.

Tell me about the books you’re really enjoying this week!

Music Monday: January 17th

Disclaimer: I do not own the music I share. I found it on Spotify or Youtube. The license for these songs belongs to somebody else entirely.

I’ve gotten really into listening to music while I read. I have found that I love listening to soundtracks. I’d love to find many soundtrack tracks to listen to while reading.

This is in honor of A Whole New World. I’m reading the book with Books Are The New Black.

Feel free to share your music playlists! I always love hearing new music!

Weekly Reading Plans: January 17th

One of the biggest goals I have this year is to finally tackle the huge list of books I’ve accumulated over the past year. Especially the books were given to me in exchange for review. I haven’t intended to go so long without reading them. I am just really bad with time management. Hopefully, this year will help me get better with that.

Note: I realize I plan to read a lot of books every week. I’m a mood reader and I account for that by adding extras so if I’m stuck I can move on to another book. I do not think that I will get all of these during the week. There are some that will be prioritized over others for obvious reasons.

Books I plan to read this week:

For Review:

The Final Heir by Jon Monson– Releases January 17th
Such A Pretty Smile by Kristi DeMeester-Releases January 18th
The Answers Are Within You by Amber Rae– Releases January 18th
How to Love Your Neighbor by Sophie Sullivan– Releases January 18th
Anatomy: A Love Story by Dana Schwartz– Releases January 18th

Buddy Reads:

Legendary by Stephanie Garber
Finale by Stephanie Garber
A Whole New World by Liz Braswell
The List by Kate L. Mary
Pepper by Evelyn Lederman

Buddy reading the Caraval trilogy with One Book More and A Whole New World with Books Are The New Black. The List is being read by a group I run on Facebook. All are welcome to join and read with us. We take turns buddy reading books.

Warheart by Terry Goodkind (To Finish)
True Teryn by S.G. Blaise
The Long War by David Loyn
Love & Other Disasters by Anita Kelly
The Magnolia Palace by Fiona Davis
The Azure Kingdom by Michelle Dare
The Pine Forest by Michelle Dare
The Fuchsia Lakes by Michelle Dare
The Sable Keep by Michelle Dare

What are some of the books you plan to read this week?

Sundays in Bed With… Legendary, A Whole New World, and Warheart

Hosted by: Midnight Book Girl

Legendary: A Caraval Novel by [Stephanie Garber]

I’m buddy reading this book with One Book More. I’m really enjoying it. I have a feeling that I will be finished with it by the end of the day if I’m able to. We will see! We’ve decided to go at our own pace and check in. It’s been pretty awesome! 🙂

A Whole New World: A Twisted Tale (Twisted Tale, A) by [Liz Braswell]

I’m buddy reading this book with Books are the New Black. We’re reading four chapters a day. I’m a bit behind, but I plan to catch up today. One of the beauties of having the day off. From what I’ve seen, we’ll probably be done with it in a few days. I’m not fully sure. I’ve really enjoyed getting to see and know Jasmine and Genie a little better in this retelling.

Warheart: Sword of Truth - The Conclusion - A Richard and Kahlan Novel by [Terry Goodkind]

I’m not fully sure I will get to this book. I’m hoping to. I have aims to finish it. I believe I’m about halfway through it. I could be wrong. I’ve really loved this series. More than I can ever explain. The fact that I’m finally at the end of the journey is both a relief and a tragedy. I might pick up the Nicci chronicles from here. I’m not really sure yet.

What book are you enjoying today?

Book Photos Sundays: January 16th

Disclaimer: Some photos may be photos that aren’t mine. I do not claim them. I do hope you enjoy them as well though.

Note: Sometimes I will add videos if I’ve done a TikTok for that week.

I’d love to see some of your bookish photos and videos!
