I more or less read this in one sitting. Obviously I took some breaks here and there to get up and move around. I really enjoyed it. It had some Stephanie Plum humor with some normal cozy mystery vibes. Well, with some Vodou mixed in. Mambo is a very powerful priestess, but she can’t cook for anything. It’s one of the biggest jabs in the book. At the risk of a small (not really) spoiler, I was kind of hoping that this would be a serial killer case. Each book would be a different victim. Each victim would have Vodou vibes to throw the cops off the sense. I digress. While it wasn’t that, it was still amazing. I also did and didn’t suspect how things would play out. I honestly feel that the cover could use a bit more work, but it looks okay. I now need to go get into book two!
