Review:
Story: I jumped at this book because I absolutely loved the title. I can honestly say that I knew nothing about it. I kind of thought it would be a cheesy romance full of angst and misunderstandings. In all actuality, it is a romcom-type book. However, it wasn’t full of angst and misunderstandings. So I was able to really enjoy it. I actually wish it had been longer so that I could stay in the world longer. There are parts that I kind of wish had gotten played out more. Things that had an intense build-up that kind of just fell flat at the end. At least it did for me.
Characters: I really adored Piper very much. I’d love to own a little bakery-type shop like she does! I would have loved to see more actual scenes in it, to be honest. I’d also love to see her brother a little more. There were a lot more characters I want to get more of. I also loved Gus. He’s so great! He’s also very humble. He comes home and a position is offered to him that he’s more than qualified for, but he doesn’t want to step on toes.
Critiques: I really just wish it was a lot longer. I wish there were certain scenes that got played out more. I’m not going to bring up the specific scenes due to spoiler potential. However, I’m more than willing to have a conversation with the author about it if they reach out.
Final Thoughts: I really enjoyed this story very much. It was cute. It was quirky. It was a really enjoyable read. I enjoyed it so much that I hassled somebody who means a lot to me to read the book too. I really want to talk about this book with somebody. I really didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I did. I am so excited to read the rest of the series! I wish I could own all of them in paperback format. If these get turned into audiobooks, I’m grabbing the entire set!
