Review:
Story: it’s a race to who can find the treasure that Grandma M’s deceased husband has allegedly left behind. Which means that Grandma M is a target. Again. This book was a familiar difference. It was similar to the series, but it had a revamped flair. I can’t explain it any better than that. There were a few books in the series that made me feel like the author may have been growing a bit bored with the series. I no longer feel that way. I’m very happy about that. This is one of my favorite series of all time.
Characters: All of the characters seem a bit different in this book. I’m not sure if it’s just because it’s been awhile since I read the series or if there’s an actual difference. Some characters seem more subdued than they normally were. This could be something that only I feel.
Critiques: None
Narration: This is one of the few books in this series that I listened to in audiobook. I want to make it very clear that I found that the narrator was very nice. I’d definitely listen to other books this narrator does. I just can’t with this particular series. That’s personal preference. I want to hear this series with a lot of Jersey attitude. It’s how I’ve read it in my head all these years. I can’t “unhear” it.
Final Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book very much. I was a bit surprised at the differences of names. Normally the number is in the title. I mean I guess it is in a way. It’s just not the front part of the title like the rest of them. The next book in the series is like that too. I wonder if that’s something that’s done to revamp her love for the series? Who knows? I’m am so glad that this series still exists!
