Review:
Story: I really enjoyed this book very much. There were times I felt that the story kind of slogged on though. I also felt like some places were a bit rushed. There were also scenes that I would have liked to have seen played out a bit more. I won’t divulge specific scenes due to potential spoilers. Overall, I really enjoyed the story. I also loved the multiple cultural references in the story. It made everything more intense. I wound up learning quite a bit.
Characters: I’m horrible with names. I was very interested in seeing this story through the four sibling’s points of view. I was more empathetic with the one that was imprisoned for murdering their mother. I mean I felt for all of them and understood their point of view. It’s just that I really felt for him.
Critiques: The cheeky part of me wants to say that there’s no release date on book two.
Narration: I believe the narrator did an amazing job.
Final Thoughts: Despite the small issues that I have addressed, I really enjoyed this story very much. I need the second book in my life yesterday. I’ll most definitely use the time gap between books as an excuse to reread the first book. I won’t even lie. It’s just such a good story!
