Review:

Story: This is a very action packed and amazing book. I would have never thought of people 18+ going to an academy, but it makes sense. These aren’t normal academies after all. I’d of liked to have seen more classroom activity. I’m probably going to get this book a lot more readers by saying this, but I’d have liked to seen a little less sex scenes. This is coming from a demisexual though. I don’t think the book is trash because of the amount of sex in it. It was just too much for my personal taste. I absolutely love the dynamic between the main character and the boys though. It was a good relief to such a heavy and intense dramatic dialogue.

Characters: Elliot is just so relatable. I read a review basically saying she was cool but really whiny. I disagree with that assessment. She doubted herself a lot, but she’s also been through a lot. She doesn’t know what she can trust and what she can’t. If she had been somebody who had the world handed to her, I’d totally agree with the judgment. The boys are definitely a collective of personalities. There’s not a boring day with them around!

Critiques: None really. The only one I had is personal preference over an actual problem with the book.

Narration: One of my favorite narrators of all time read this book. So of course I thought it was amazing. Then again, she could read one of the most dull to me books ever and it would completely make me love the story. If I see the name Sarah Puckett on an audiobook, it immediately either gets bought or gets added to my wish list. I strongly recommend giving her a try.

Final Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book very much. I’d of liked to have seen more actual school action instead of sex, but that’s just me. It’s definitely a fun and engaging. I’m really sad that there’s only six books in the series. I’d say it’s a very adult Harry Potter, but it’s more action-packed.

Times are hard. If you would consider helping me out by the links below, I’d really appreciate it.
