Review:
Story: I didn’t vibe with this book at all. It seemed to go all over the place. It was inconsistent. And I almost just stopped reading it multiple times. I wound up finishing the book, but it took a lot of will power. I don’t give a book less than three-stars. Mainly because the only time I would do so is if I didn’t finish a book. I absolutely refuse to review a book that I didn’t finish it. My thoughts are that one day I may go back and read it again. I digress. This is the exception for me. I’m giving it a two. In fact, this book has turned me off any other potential Little Mermaid retellings. Mainly because I can’t decide why I didn’t vibe with the book. It’s a possibility that I just never really was a Little Mermaid fan. I don’t think it was the writing style of the author. I read two other books by her and enjoyed them greatly.
Characters: I have no memory of the characters in this story at all. Granted it has been months since I read it, but still.
Critiques: Maybe a revision to see if the flow is off.
Narration: I enjoyed the narration as much as I did the first two books.
Final Thoughts: I wanted to like this book. I really did. I just couldn’t get into it. I’m happy with the fact that I didn’t set the book down. I’m also sad that it wasn’t all that I hoped it would be. Maybe one day I’ll go back and read it in a different way and have a different feeling about the book. We will see.
