Review:
Story: I’m not going to lie. I didn’t really enjoy this story as much as I did Fairest of All. Which was disappointing to me as Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorites. That being said, I didn’t exactly hate it either. There were many moments that really clarified the classical story for me. Just like with fairest of all. I just had expectations that just weren’t met with this one.
Characters: I really loved seeing Beast’s point of view and getting to see how things were from his perspective. It was also not lost on me that there were some characters from Fairest of All in this book as well. I won’t say who. I was surprised by it. I think surprise is the point of the matter.
Critiques: Some passages could use a bit of a rewrite to not come off so bland.
Narration: I really enjoyed the narration.
Final Thoughts: While I wasn’t in love with the story, I can say that I did enjoy it. I loved the different point of view and the background story being filled in more for me. I did wish for a lot more with this story, but there’s nothing majorly wrong with it. At the end of the day, I’d still recommend it.
