Thankful Thursday: February 3rd

I don’t know if anybody else has made this a thing. I also don’t know if anybody else will do this with me. If not, it’s completely fine. It’s something I want to do every week. I’m going to think of at least one thing I’m thankful for for the week. I’ll try to do up to four a week, but at least one. I think this will be very therapeutic. We shall see in time.

Note: There may be some things that get repeated now and then. My intention is to talk about things I’m thankful for that week. So some things may pop up a few times. I’m not attempting to be redundant or repetitive. Just trying to be genuine.

  1. Having people in my life who understand. Life gives you ups and downs. Sometimes it’s easier for the brain to replay the negatives. The people who don’t get it. The people who shame you. I could go on, but I don’t want to dwell on that. There are people who love and accept you no matter what. No matter how many mistakes you make. Even if you don’t love and accept yourself. I’m thankful for that.
  2. Having a thankful journal. I recently got myself a thankful journal. I’ve been listing three things I’m thankful for every day. It’s so soothing. I can’t even begin to explain it. It makes this blog so much easier to right.
  3. Learning. At one point in history, I wouldn’t have the ability to learn or read. At least not openly. If I did choose to do either of these things, I would be looked down upon or told I wouldn’t catch a husband if I knew more than they did. I honor that ability and right as often as I can.
  4. My job. I think I finally might have found a job that I can stick with. So far, everything is going very smoothly. I’m praying it sticks. I’m praying that I’m good enough to continue on with this job. Eventually, I would like to make a career. I’d like to be able to promote books freely at all hours of the day and read for hours a day. Maybe one day. We shall see!

What are some things you’re thankful for?
