About: Bella is finally ready to head on her long journey towards recovery. She knows that she won’t be able to do it fully until the person who put her through everything is locked up once and for all. She also wants to find a way to reconnect with her friends and her boyfriend. Meanwhile, Gervasio has other plans for her.
Plot: I didn’t think it was possible for sequels to just keep getting better. Usually, they go the opposite way. The first one is powerful and strong and then it fizzles out as the series goes on. This series is definitely one that gets stronger as it continues. When I first picked up the first one, I wasn’t comfortable with it. I stuck with it. I’m so glad I did now. It is emotional and raw. It’s a truly beautiful story!
Characters: I loved Bella in the beginning. I am starting to love her again. Miah was a hit and miss for me in this one. In some parts, he was great. In others, he was kind of a jerk. I mean I get where he was coming from, but still. I didn’t like her friends at all in this one. I get that she hurt them, but couldn’t they see that she needed them? What happens to friends no matter what?
Suggestions: There are some scenes that I felt like could have been accented a bit better. Gone into more detail.
Recommend: Yes! Please read the first two books first! Also, be mindful of trigger warnings.
